Volunteer Opportunity to Lead a Working Group
Tue, 01/13/2026 - 13:06

Are you passionate about helping York become a thriving, net-zero city? The York Climate Commission is looking for volunteers to step into leadership roles as Working Group Lead or Co-Lead for it’s FIVE new Working Groups: Ecology, Infrastructure, People, Communications and Governance.
Each group brings together local volunteers and organisations to collaborate on practical ways to accelerate climate action in York. As Working Group Lead or Co-Lead, you’ll help guide the group’s priorities, lead inclusive discussions and drive progress between meetings – you will also contribute to the YCC Steering Group and leadership conversations.
These are flexible volunteer roles, requiring around 2–6 hours a month. They offer a chance to build partnerships, influence real change in your area of expertise, and connect with a passionate local network.
Deadline to apply: Friday 30th January, 12:00
To apply, send a short statement (max 500 words) to yorkclimatecommission@gmail.com
