YCC Volunteer Opportunities to Chair or Co-Chair a Working Group

Thu, 08/28/2025 - 16:20

Are you passionate about helping York become a thriving, net-zero city? The York Climate Commission is looking for volunteers to step into leadership roles as Chairs or Co-Chairs of three of its Working Groups: Future Buildings, Future Economy and York Educators for Climate Action.

Each group brings together local people and organisations to collaborate on practical ways to accelerate climate action in York. As Chair or Co-Chair, you’ll help guide the group’s priorities, lead inclusive discussions and drive progress between meetings – with support from the YCC Steering Group.

These are flexible volunteer roles, requiring around 2–6 hours a month. They offer a chance to build partnerships, influence real change in your area of expertise, and connect with a passionate local network.

Deadline to apply: Friday 12 September, 12:00

To apply, send a short statement (max 500 words) to yorkclimatecommission@gmail.com
