There is an incredible range of innovative action on climate change taking place across York, as these case studies show. We are continuing to compile inspirational success stories that demonstrate how businesses, organisations, groups, communities and individuals are responding to the challenge of reducing carbon emissions and becoming more resilient to climate impacts.

 Monk's Cross HyperHub

The construction of two high quality, high speed electric vehicle HyperHubs in York will help the region support the next generation of EV chargers. Each Hyperhub site will consist of solar PV canopies which will generate green electricity (100kWp), battery energy storage (348kW/507kWh), 4 Rapid and 4 Ultra Rapid EV chargers.

First Bus were early adopters of electric buses when they began using vehicles on the York Park & Ride in 2014, which is operated in a joint partnership with City of York Council.
